Role: Warehouse Manager · Warehouse, Logistics & Supply Chain
Department Leadership & Output Mandate
Hold total responsibility for the output of the Warehouse, Logistics, and Procurement teams. Set the daily pace, establish strict KPIs (inventory accuracy, dock turnarounds), and actively train the staff. Reduce costs and keep headcount low by optimizing physical flow and ERP utilization. Increase company profit by enforcing a zero-defect culture that eliminates missing hardware, shipping damage, and raw material stock-outs.
Supply Chain & Procurement Leadership
Set the overarching purchasing strategy and directly manage the Purchasing Specialist. Own high-level vendor negotiations, establish material budgets, and enforce cost-control measures by requiring the Production Manager to route all tooling and consumable requests through this department.
Safety & OSHA Compliance
Own all OSHA administrative and training requirements for the building. Maintain official records (OSHA 300 logs, SDS), schedule and conduct facility-wide safety trainings (e.g., forklift certification, lockout/tagout), conduct routine safety audits, and handle official incident reporting—relying on the Production Manager solely to enforce these standards on the floor.
Fulfillment Leadership
Directly manage and mentor the three operational leads (Inventory, Pack & QA, Shipping & Receiving), ensuring all departments hit their daily throughput and accuracy targets.
Cost Control & Gatekeeping
Act as the ultimate filter for floor-level spend. Require Production Managers to route consumable, supply, and tooling requests through this role to eliminate rogue purchasing and strictly control the operating budget.
Facility Layout & Flow
Design, map, and continuously improve the physical footprint of the warehouse. Optimize staging lanes, racking systems, and material movement paths to eliminate bottlenecks between the production floor and the shipping docks.
Facility Maintenance & Operations
Own the physical building. Manage contracts for trash and utilities, coordinate repairs (HVAC, dock doors, lighting), and ensure the facility remains secure, clean, and compliant with safety codes.
Equipment Fleet Management
Oversee the preventative maintenance, repair, and safety compliance of all material handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, carts) and relevant facility machinery to prevent operational downtime.
Quality & Liability Protection
Support the Pack & QA team in enforcing strict quality standards. Ensure custom crating and packaging procedures are robust enough to prevent transit damage and protect the company from site-delay liabilities or back charges.
Inventory Accuracy & Strategy
Hold the Inventory team accountable for ERP data integrity. Oversee high-level cycle count strategies and ensure the physical space accurately reflects the digital system to prevent raw material stock-outs.
Logistics & Dock Oversight
Ensure the Shipping & Receiving team maintains a safe, organized dock schedule. Coordinate high-level freight strategies with the Logistics Coordinator to keep outbound FTL/LTL shipments flowing without delay.
